Remembering Sara
On this page, I have posted the following items...
> First is the video that played at Sara's memorial.
> Then there is a list of the the memorial plaques we dedicated in her honor.
~ I have posted pictures and directions to them.
~ We hope you have a chance to visit at least one of these beautiful tributes.
> Near the bottom of this page is the video of the full memorial, split up into 4 segments.
> And finally, I've posted the beautiful program we handed out at her memorial.
Here is the video that was played at Sara's memorial, which I think captures the spirit of the young woman she became.
Here is a book I put together to honor her life and memory. Becoming The Tigress.
Here are the Memorials Dedicated in Sara's Honor
Carlsbad, Santa Barbara, Goleta & Oceanside
A heartfelt "Thank You" to all of Sara's family members and friends that contributed to making
these four beautiful memorials possible. We will forever have these places
to visit and sit with our memories of our beautiful girl.
Carlsbad Beach Memorial
Located near the foot of the staircase at the end of Carlsbad Village Drive. This rock cairn, created by the City of Carlsbad, was the perfect way to honor Sara. Sara loved the beach, especially the beaches of Encinitas and Carlsbad. She and I also loved the meditation of stacking rocks, and we did it often together.
Santa Barbara Memorial
Located at 522 State Street, in an area where Sara once worked and played.
This beautiful Evergreen Coral Tree blossoms every spring, just like she used to.
Goleta Memorial
This commemorative bench is located at Los Carneros Park, a beautiful preserve in nearby Goleta. (see map below)
Although Sara may have never walked the trails here, the bench looks up at the Santa Ynez Mountains, and to a spot called "The Water Tower", where we scattered some of her ashes. She would go to that spot at sunset to take in the incredible views of Santa Barbara and the ocean below. Now at sunset, we can spend some time in peace, remembering her.
Here is a map to Sara's Bench at Los Carneros. The red "P" is a place where you can park, and the purple arrow points to the location of her bench. Just follow the trails; it's not far at all from the street.
Oceanside Memorial
Here is a commemorative brick, at the foot of the Oceanside Pier.
She spent a good amount of time working and playing in Oceanside as well.
